I started blogging in July of 2008 with the oft traveled road blog. My life has changed a LOT since then. What hasn’t changed is my love of creating beautiful things … what HAS changed is the amount of time I have spent doing it.
In April of 2011 I took on the job of Outdoors writer for my local newspaper. At the time I was also writing various features and going on photo assignments for the paper. I was so busy with my various assignments and my fishing and hiking and birding that I didn’t have time to get into my quilt studio. I had started another icon, the archangel Raphael, but haven’t laid brush to gesso’d wood in ages. Creativity has’t flown out the window … it had just reshaped itself into bird’s wings and whatnot.
Recently my work for the newspaper (and my pay) has been cut by two-thirds … which will make my upcoming vows of poverty O so much easier to take, I’m guessing.
Vows? Yup, vows. I am currently a postulant with the Sisters of St. Gregory. If you are interested in reading about that journey, click on over to The (Almost) Daily Office website.
Would you like to meet my 10 new sisters? Here they are, aren’t they beautiful?!!?
I haven’t started a quilt project since April of 2011. I’m itchy to get started again, so I stopped by Sister’s Fabric Shop on Sunday after church to see Bobbi. She got me started with an English paper piecing project. I started sewing last night. Yay!!!
This morning I found a smaller needle to stitch with so the thread doesn’t show as much. I don’t know where I am going, but I’m going to enjoy the journey, I just know it.
Much love,

Best wishes in all your journeys.
