PUYALLUP RIVER — I had been waiting for this day for two years. Did the fishing live up to my expectations? Absolutely.
If you haven’t fished the Puyallup River for pink salmon, you’ve been missing out. Big time.
Yeah, it’s crowded. Yeah, it’s a long drive for us here in Lewis County. But it’s worth every mile.
In three hours of fishing — two of us fishing hard, one of us spending more time holding a camera than a rod — we limited out without a problem. In fact, there were so many fish we could afford to be choosy.
Several anglers hauled up chrome bright Coho salmon, but most of the rest of us had to settle for pinks. LOVE them pinks!
